yogurt 2.0

The benefits of eating yogurt containing probiotic cultures are well documented. Yogurt is recommended after a stomach illness to replace the good bacteria your intestines need to function well. It is also suggested for women who think they may be getting a yeast infection and lately, yogurt with active bacterial cultures is getting press for helping fend of and/or fight colds. People have also reported that eating yogurt has helped get rid of stubborn warts.

This recipe combines your favorite yogurt with cottage cheese and frozen fruit. Cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein and when blended with silky yogurt and frozen fruit the result is a healthy snack which could easily pass for dessert.

The most healthy option is to use a natural yogurt while strawberry or banana add a nice flavor.

ingredients

1 c yogurt
1 c yogurt
1 c frozen strawberries

instructions

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Enjoy!

Suggestion: Obviously, you can switch this up. Try adding a banana or frozen blueberries. You can also top with granola or use it as dip for muffins.

Trust me, this is good stuff. Healthy in disguise! The kids often have it before school in the morning and then tell their teachers they had dessert for breakfast – I’m sure they must be wondering what goes on around here!
