carpe the hell out of your diem
We’ve all heard it: Seize the Day. Own it. Make the most of the time you’ve got because we get one go around and when it’s over, it’s over. No one wants to look back on their life and think, if only…..
And yet, that’s what most of us are working toward. Doggedly working toward. Night and day, day and night, trudging up and down the same hill for the same predictable result.
A: Same old, same old.
There is a predominant attitude of average permeating the very fabric of society. We’ve all been taught to maintain the status quo and challenge little. Do what you must in order to live a good – but not exceptional! – life. Work toward your retirement, have your teeth cleaned once a year, be a good employee, mow your lawn, fit in.
We’ve all got dreams and yet so many of us lack the audacity to believe our dreams can become reality. We lack the conviction that we can make those dreams come true. We govern ourselves according to fears both real and imagined. Most people are living a limited version of themselves. We’ve put ourselves in boxes and never come out. We are afraid to take chances, live large, be loud. I suggest that now is your time assume power over the fear which confines your potential in that box on a shelf.
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime
~Eminem
Do something right now, today toward realizing your true, complete outside the box self! Carpe Diem. Seize the hell out of this day. And the next. And the one after. You can do the things you want to do. Don’t let fear be the disease which keeps you small. Be large. Be everything that you know you can be!
