5 simple things every woman can do to be happy

It’s far too easy to let the business of living distract us from the self care we need. We care for others and do more work in one day than it’s actually possible for one woman to do. Here are five simple things every woman can do to be happy and feel fabulous!

connectedness
No woman is an island. Feeling connected to her family, friends and community are essential for every woman’s happiness. Sometimes we think we are connected by the simple fact that we’re never alone. Real connection is a conscious effort. Take the time to appreciate the people around you and allow yourself to feel the bond you have with them.

health and fitness
The effects of a busy, stress filled life can have long term detrimental effects on the body and mind. Maintaining a fit lifestyle and proper diet are an easy way to boost happy hormones and help keep you looking good and feeling young! As little as 30 minutes of physical activity 3 times a week can be enough to put your mood on the right track. It might seem impossible to fit exercise and healthy eating into your already hectic life but doing so will make everything else easier to manage and enjoy. Make fitness a priority in your life and the benefits will be worth it. Eat an apple and take the stairs!

affection
Hugs! Kisses! There’s nothing better! Make sure you take advantage of the affection available to you among your family and friends. People with smaller children tend to give and receive affection liberally but as everyone ages, the hugs and little pats on the back are given with less frequency. Don’t let that happen in your life. Be generous with your affection every day and enjoy getting as much in return. Physical affection is a great way to stimulate your healthy lymph system and encourages the release of happy hormones!

silence
It’s not easy to find but it’s a must have. Every woman needs to have time to decompress and allow for her mind to be silent. Being busy accumulates in the body as stress and if not allowed to settle our minds this stress can and will have adverse effects over time. Make sure you find a few minutes each day to be silent. Sit quietly and allow every fiber of your being to go limp. Let your thoughts wander and be aware of encouraging yourself to settle and be still.

laughter
Get a hobby, see a play, laugh with friends. Whatever it takes, have some fun. A life without laughter is no life at all. Laughter really is the best medicine – make sure you’re getting your daily dose!

Good suggestions. It’s not easy to keep a balance. For me connectedness is the one I think I neglect the most.

  2. I really like this list! I’ve found that exercise is a real necessity … it’s tough to make the time and actually get out there but it does something fabulous to one’s mood!

    Thanks for sharing this list!
